    Remembrance Sunday

To recognise and honour Remembrance Sunday, we have engaged in different activities across the school. Students have been learning the importance of Remembrance Sunday and have created displays to share their knowledge. M2 have even made a Poppy display for school.

    Class of the week: U3

It has been a busy but exciting start to the new academic year for U3. Moving to a new room with more space and a sensory area has allowed U3 to take ownership and pride of their surroundings. There are 4 class spider plants with named students to look after them, this term we will be potting them up for the second time. We have decorated our classroom door with Autumnal images for October and will be remembering those we have lost in war this month with poppy wreaths.

U3 have started taking their options subjects twice a week ranging from Animal Care to Mechanics and Art and Design. They are also studying for their Entry Level 2 in English. In our Preparing for Adulthood lessons this term we will be visiting the local community including Arnold library, the leisure centre and Post Office. In Textiles U3 have been working towards making a reversible fabric box with a range of different techniques including applique, block printing and couching. U3 also made a fantastic donation to the Food Bank in Arnold and will be delivering their items this week to be distributed in the local community.

At the end of last term, we celebrated the achievements of the class with a cinema experience in the classroom, this involved plenty of popcorn, snacks and comfy seats whilst we watched the film ‘Up!’.

M3 class had many many certificates this week for all their swimming and horse riding achievements!
