    Macmillan Coffee and cake morning

Last week, we held our Macmillan coffee and cake morning to raise money for Macmillan cancer support. First of all, we would like to say a big thank you to all who donated cakes and money to help make this such a successful (and delicious) morning!

We managed to raise a tremendous amount, and we are very proud to be able to donate this to such a worthy cause that helps support families experiencing some of the hardest of times.

    Class of the week: M4

We’ve had a fantastic week in Class M4, full of fun, learning, and exploration across all our subjects! Here's a quick look at what we’ve been up to:

In English, we have been exploring rhyming couplets and learning how to identify sound patterns in poetry. The children really enjoyed listening to different poems and spotting the rhymes at the end of each line. We also had fun creating our own rhyming lines, focusing on how the words sound and fit together. There were lots of amazing ideas and creativity as we played with language and rhythm when exploring our autumn poem.

In Maths, we have been focusing on ordering and comparing numbers. The class practised putting numbers in order from smallest to largest and used the greater than (>) and less than (<) symbols to compare different values. The children showed great focus and are becoming more confident at spotting number patterns and differences.

In our PSHE lessons, we’ve been learning all about trust – what it means, why it's important, and how we can build trusting relationships with others. We discussed real-life examples and shared ideas about how we can show others that we are trustworthy friends and classmates.
