    Transitions!

At this time of year, all schools are preparing for changes, and this is no different for us. Our year 8's are getting ready to transition to Sherbrook, and we have other students moving classes as they progress through school. It is an exciting time of year and all students are showing amazing resilience in adapting to these changes. It can be scary to step outside of our comfort zones, and we are so proud of our students for adjusting to these changes with such open minds!

Our current year 8 classes have been visiting Sherbrook as part of their transitions and have got stuck into playing football at break times with new peers, exploring the site, getting to know all the wonderful creatures that reside there and even completed some workouts in the school gym! We have also had a transition day for our year 6 students, who will be moving classes ready for year 7. They were so welcoming to our new students and have made new friends already!

    Class of the week: M3

M3 has been busily working in the local community going on litter-picking expeditions. It is really nice to know that their efforts have been recognised by some of the people who live near the school who have praised the work of our pupils. Not only have they collected several bags of rubbish, but our eagle-eyed team also found a stash of stolen bank cards, which they meticulously collected and brought back to school, from where they were handed over to the police, who were very interested indeed!

With their time at Churchmoor coming to a close, M3 pupils have been focusing on the next stage of their education at Sherbrook. This is an important step and can be quite daunting, but everyone in M3 has worked really hard to make sure the transition goes smoothly, and they can 'hit the ground running' in September. M3 have made several visits to the Sherbrook site and already know their new teachers and the layout of the school, so they will be able to make an effective and meaningful start to the new school year. A big thank you to all involved!
