We are very excited to announce the opening of our new sensory garden at Churchmoor, generously funded by XXX. It has been a hit with our pupils, with children enjoying planting fruit and vegetables, enjoying the sound of the wind chimes, and having a peaceful place to take in the fresh air!
This is just the beginning, as we plan to add even more enriching sensory items, to enhance all our senses, so watch this space...

This term M3 have been reading and working on the book Skellig . The class have worked very hard , listened to the book and watched PowerPoints on this topic .
We have looked at the following: Building visual & written inference skills, plot predictions, retell, setting, description, character development, dilemma and resolution, figurative language/imagery, grammatical features to create suspense and paragraph development. So as you can see, we have been very busy!
We have also been fortunate to have the opportunity to not only exercise our minds, but also our bodies as we have been swimming, ice-skating and horse riding!
A big well done to Harry at Churchmoor and Aaron at Sherbrook, keep up the fantastic effort!

Our Saturday sessions (10am-1pm) are run from Beeston Youth and Community Centre for 10-18 year old's with level 1 autism. They offer a wide range of activities such as arts and crafts projects, video gaming, board games, table top war games (warhammer), Indoor/ Outdoor Sport, Pool, and space to socialise and chat.
These sessions are non-committal, simply turn up on the day, once signed up as a member we are a drop in group, meaning no contract, no pressure, we are on every Saturday of the year (with exception for Christmas holidays and bank holidays).
Young people are welcome to turn up and stay as long as they like. We understand that joining a new club can be intimidating so we welcome parents and carers to join and stay as long as the young person needs, However when ready, we do ask adults to take a break, step back, grab a coffee, and encourage the young people to spend their time at the session independently, this encourages friendships, engagement and confidence."
