Miss Staton has been very busy in Forest School, starting off the festive season with making festive cookies! Every class at Churchmoor were tasked to saw a slice of wood from a branch to make a "cookie", remembering their safety, and then decorate their cookie with paint pens! Students have made some beautiful scenes and the school is beginning to feel a lot more festive already!

We’ve had a busy and rewarding term in Post 16A! Pupils have been getting stuck into their weekly work-experience sessions at Lashes, the charity shop, where they’ve shown growing initiative. They’ve taken on a variety of jobs such as clearing leaves from the driveway, wrapping raffle prizes, sorting clothes and even learning how to use the till. Out in the community, we have been practising independence skills by visiting local shops and the chip shop for lunch, and they are now confidently ordering for themselves. In school, we’ve continued working on our Entry 3 English and Maths courses, and we have also begun exploring our future pathways by researching careers and looking into local colleges.
Our options sessions have taken off with great enthusiasm, with Post 16A pupils taking part in animal care, history, cooking and childcare. One of us has even had the exciting opportunity to spend time in a local infant school to gain extra workplace experience. With the festive season just around the corner, we’re all looking forward to our well-earned reward trip to karaoke and Pizza Hut!

A big well done to Charlotte at Churchmoor, and Oliver at Sherbrook! Keep up the good work.
