    We are entrepreneurs!

Our bakery project gave us the opportunity to put our classroom learning into practice in a fun and meaningful way. In maths, we used our money skills to price our baked goods, work out totals and give customers the correct change. In English, we used our writing skills to create recipe cards, ingredient lists and attractive signs to promote our products. We also developed our communication skills by greeting customers, answering their questions and serving them politely and confidently. Working together as a team helped us build confidence, solve problems and experience what it is like to run a real business.

Class of the week: Post 16a

Post 16A have had a busy and successful term so far, with GCSE Maths and History exams alongside Functional Skills English and Maths assessments. We are incredibly proud of the mature and positive attitude they have shown towards their qualifications. Their hard work and determination have been fantastic to see. Keep up the great effort, and we wish everyone the very best of luck on results day!

To celebrate finishing their exams, we enjoyed a well-deserved trip into Arnold – although the weather had other ideas and we got caught in the rain! Throughout the term, Post 16A have continued to develop their independence skills, confidently using public buses, crossing roads safely, and visiting local shops and cafés.

We also made our final visit of the year to Lashes charity shop, where students worked hard sorting donations and helping to keep the shop tidy. Looking ahead, we have been exploring personalised work experience placements for next year to help support students in taking their next steps towards adulthood and employment.

As the year draws to a close, we will soon be saying goodbye to some of our Post 16 students as they move on to college. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved during their time with us and wish them every success and happiness in the future.

    Top Dojo Points!

A big well done to Connor at Churchmoor and Isaac T and Riley F for the joint top Dojo points at Sherbrook - fantastic effort by all!
