    We are readers!

Across Churchmoor and Sherbrook, pupils have been working hard on their Fresh Start reading interventions. Pupils have been dedicating their time to develop their reading and writing skills and the effort they have been putting in is clearly paying off, from reading what is around them in their day-to-day lives, to reading Shakespeare in front of the whole class! We are very proud of our pupils and the world they are opening up for their futures.

    Class of the week: U2

U2 have had a fantastic and active period, with many pupils taking part in a variety of exciting experiences both in and out of school.

A special celebration goes to Noah and Carter (U1), who are currently involved in the Supported Insight Scheme, a valuable work experience programme linked with East Midlands Railway. This six-week opportunity, based at Nottingham and Derby train stations, allows them to develop workplace skills and gain real-world experience. They have demonstrated excellent attitudes, behaviour, and a genuine curiosity about trains, making the most of this fantastic opportunity. We are very proud of their commitment and enthusiasm.

Jayden has been enjoying time outdoors, sharing his interest in fishing, showing patience and dedication.

Meanwhile, Tyler and Charlie have been developing their skills on the ice through ice skating, demonstrating confidence, balance, and perseverance.

A special mention also goes to Charlie and Patrick, who have demonstrated exemplary behaviour during the Canoville Football Programme. Their teamwork, respect, and positive attitude have made them excellent ambassadors for the school.

We are incredibly proud of all the pupils in U2 for their efforts and achievements. Keep up the fantastic work!
