This week, we raised awareness of World Mental Health day. Lots of people have worn yellow today and have "worn it loud, and worn it proud" to show that it is just as important to look after mental health as it is physical, and young people are not alone if this is a struggle for them. We have also raised money to donate to Young Minds, a charity dedicated to empowering young people to understand and care for their mental health, and have the courage to make the changes they want to see!
Students learnt about why mental health is important, not just today, but every day, and discussed tools to use when they need it, as well as how to help others. We saw so many acts of empathy today, including checking in on friends and helping others. Our students make us so proud, day in and day out, showing how supportive they are and making Endeavour a welcoming place for all.

It’s been a busy and exciting start for U1 as they have settled in at Sherbrook after moving up from Churchmoor. The class have loved getting to know their new surroundings, especially our Forest School area. They have been busy making fir cone bird feeders, learning to start fires with flint(!), playing social games, and of course, toasting marshmallows for tasty s’mores.
In English, the class have been developing their Skills for Writing through a unit called Alter Egos. They have been learning how to use imperatives, vivid imagery and emphasis to make their writing more powerful and engaging.
Over in Maths, they have been working hard on the four operations, place value, rounding, measuring perimeter and area, and tackling multiplication and division, even dividing by decimals and exploring quadratic equations for those working at a greater depth.
It has been a brilliant start to life at Sherbrook, getting to know each other, learning, and fun outdoors!

"We’re YoungMinds the UK’s leading charity fighting for a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.
We provide young people with the tools to look after their mental health. We empower adults to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. And we give young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in."
