At Endeavour, we have got incredibly green fingers! In our new sensory garden, our outside quad, and even in our classrooms, with the help of our students and Miss Staton, the areas have been transformed into oases, filled with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, cabbage, garlic chive, sweetpea flowers and a whole range of herbs. The children have thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands muddy and we are seeing the reward of their effort!

U3 continue to work incredibly hard in their option subjects and are beginning to prepare for sitting qualification exams in English and Maths very soon. We are very proud of the effort and determination students are showing in lessons.
In Design and Technology, students have been designing and making their own Dog Lamps inspired by graphic artists and designers. Alongside completing artist research to support their ideas, students developed practical workshop skills using tenon and coping saws to create the wooden dog shapes. They also used an electric drill to make holes for screws and bolts before sanding and painting their final designs. The finished products look fantastic and demonstrate both creativity and resilience.
In Preparing for Adulthood lessons, students have been exploring travel planning and budgeting for different scenarios. This included planning a UK family holiday for four people with a £2000 budget, as well as creating a three-week backpacking trip abroad for when they finish school. Students have been developing important life skills including budgeting, researching destinations and considering transport and accommodation options.
Our regular visits to Cleo’s café in Arnold continue to be a huge success. These trips provide valuable opportunities for students to practise crossing roads safely, using public transport and independently ordering drinks and food. Recently, students also enjoyed completing themed word searches during the visit — alongside sampling some delicious cakes!
Students have also continued to care for the class plants successfully, showing responsibility and teamwork throughout the week.
Friday ice skating sessions remain a firm favourite and are enjoyed by everyone. It has been wonderful to see students grow in both confidence and independence during these sessions.
Our half-termly cinema celebration sessions also continue to be a highlight. We have recently started watching the Despicable Me films in numerical order, with plenty of laughter and shared snacks enjoyed by all.
We have also recently introduced a ‘Work of the Week’ display board to celebrate the fantastic work being produced across lessons. Students whose work is displayed receive extra Dojo points in recognition of their effort and achievement.
A big well done to Declan at Churchmoor and Oliver at Sherbrook! All your hard work is paying off!
